About Wuzetka and zygmuntówka
The wuzetka is a square of chocolate sponge filled with whipped cream and topped with chocolate icing. One story says its name comes from the W-Z (East-West) route that runs beneath the Old Town. The zygmuntówka, named after the King Zygmunt Column, won the contest for the official Warsaw dessert: almond cake with meringue, chocolate mousse, cranberry jam and whipped cream (Warsaw Tourism Office).
