The back story

Getting around Warsaw: the back story

In depth·Warsaw

Two metro lines, trams, buses and city bikes, the Central Station for trains across Poland and to Berlin, Prague and Vienna, and Warsaw Chopin Airport in the city.

Warsaw has two metro lines, M1 (north to south) and M2 (west to east, under the Vistula), plus a dense tram and bus network run by the city, with one ticket for all of them. Warszawa Centralna, under the Palace of Culture, is the main station for long-distance trains, and Warsaw Chopin Airport is inside the city, south of the centre.

The airport

Warsaw Chopin Airport (lotnisko-chopina.pl).

Our advice: the metro is the fastest way across the city.
