Muranów and Wola: the back story

In depth·Muranów & Wola

The former ghetto area and the west of the centre: POLIN and the memorials, the Warsaw Rising Museum, Hala Mirowska and three Bib Gourmands.

Muranów was built over the ruins of the Warsaw Ghetto; today it holds POLIN, the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes and Umschlagplatz. To the south-west, Wola has the Warsaw Rising Museum, the Norblin factory and new towers, with WANDAL, WYRAJ and WIN holding the Bib Gourmand.

Remembering

POLIN, the Ghetto Heroes Monument, Umschlagplatz, the Jewish Historical Institute, Pawiak and the Warsaw Rising Museum.

Eating

WANDAL, WYRAJ and WIN hold the Bib Gourmand in 2026.

Allow time for POLIN, and walk the Traces of the Warsaw Ghetto quietly.

Our advice: begin at POLIN, then walk to Umschlagplatz.
