The back story

Green Warsaw: the back story

In depth·Warsaw

Almost a quarter of Warsaw is green: royal gardens at Łazienki and Wilanów, the Saxon and Krasiński gardens, the Vistula boulevards, and a primeval forest at the city’s edge.

Almost a quarter of Warsaw is green, the Warsaw Tourism Office notes: historic gardens, quiet parks, nature reserves and botanical gardens, and Warsaw is one of the few capitals with a primeval forest growing at its edge, in the Kampinos National Park.

Bring a picnic to Łazienki on a summer Sunday and stay for the Chopin concert.

By the river

The Vistula Boulevards, and on the right bank, the wild river beaches.

Our advice: hire a Veturilo city bike and ride the river paths.
