About Warsaw Zoo and the Żabiński Villa
The Warsaw Zoological Garden is at Ratuszowa 1/3 in Praga. Inside it stands the Żabiński Villa, the home of the zoo’s director, Jan Żabiński, and his wife Antonina, where people escaping the Warsaw Ghetto were hidden during the Second World War. Their story inspired the film The Zookeeper’s Wife. The villa can be visited as part of the zoo (zoo.waw.pl).
