About Warsaw Citadel and the Polish History Museum
The Polish History Museum is in the Warsaw Citadel, a 19th-century fortress, at Gwardii 1. For now it shows temporary exhibitions, and you can visit the observation deck on its roof during opening hours. Its permanent exhibition, of more than 3,000 objects, is to open in 2027 (Warsaw Tourism Office). The building has been recognised by the Prix Versailles as one of the most beautiful museums in the world.
